In a career spanning 25 years, Namit has worn many hats in the world of media and entertainment. He began his career as a journalist and freelance TV writer/Producer. Key milestones in his career have been his stints as Sr. Executive Producer at Sony Entertainment Television, as Creative Director at Cinevistaas – a leading production house for TV soaps, as Executive Producer at one of India’s Leading Film Studios – Yash Raj Films, as Business Head and Chief Creative Director at Wizcraft Television and as Programming Head at Zee TV.
His skill sets include content selection, creation, and management, project execution, writing, producing, and directing.
In 2016, Namit partnered with Reliance Entertainment and since then has produced a number of shows for digital as well as broadcast networks like ‘Yo Ke Hua Bro’ (Voot), ‘Kaushiki’ (Voot), Sumer Singh Case Dairies (Viu Clip) and the multi-award-winning Black Widows for Zee5, as well as non-fiction series like “India’s Best Jobs” (Discovery India), ‘Dream On’ (Hotstar), ‘Teacher’s Genuine Stories’ (Times Network) and comedy special ‘Family Tandoncies’ featuring Amit Tandon for Netflix.
In 2022, Reliance Entertainment and Namit Sharma announced the setting up of a new premium content studio, ‘Dreamers & Doers Co.’ (DND), with an aim to provide world-class shows in a burgeoning market where the audience is constantly hungry for aspirational, exciting, high-octane entertainment. The idea was to curate a space where creators, directors, showrunners and writers feel comfortable making the best shows and films of their careers.
Under the DND banner, Namit recently produced the hit and critically acclaimed suspense drama Masoom – a Disney+ Hotstar original and an official adaptation of the award-winning Irish psychological thriller named ‘Blood’. DND’s upcoming projects include OTT shows like ‘Sultan of Delhi’ with Milan Luthria for Hotstar, Paan Parda Zarda with Gurmmeet Singh for Jio studios and a new comedy series Amazon Mini Tv.
The company is also working with leading rights holders to bring top-of-the-line scripted and unscripted international formats to India and has multiple shows in development with Jio studios, Amazon mini tv and Sony Liv.
