Deepak Segal has over three decades’ experience in the film and television industry. Graduating as a Film Editor from the prestigious Film and Television Institute; his repertoire of work includes key positions to drive content strategy across media giants like Fox Television Studio India, Sahara Motion Pictures and Star India. He played a crucial role in turning around Star Plus with KBC, K-Soaps and in launching the premium Star One. Currently, Chief Creative Officer at Applause Entertainment, Deepak Segal drives the studio’s vision of building a content hub that aims to tell stories across mediums, catering to millions.
Deepak Segal is committed to collaborating and creating multi-lingual, multi-genre and multi-platform series at Applause Entertainment. Believing in the fundamental that there is a dearth of innovative and smart content on OTT platforms, Deepak Segal intends to pave the path of content at Applause Entertainment to a level where it cuts the clutter and hits the mark of excellence.
From strategically planning, conceptualising and closely working with the creative and financial minds to commission it, he plays a key role in the development and optimization of the creative content, at Applause.
In this role, he ensures that all the narratives and messaging of the content studio are in support of its strategies. Additionally, he is involved in developing and overseeing an integrated content plan that encapsulates actively measuring, managing, optimizing and communicating the performance of the content put out by Applause Entertainment against the business’s operational objectives.
