Allen is a passionate marketer and leader, with 14 years of experience in brand management and sales in FMCG, spanning two organizations – Marico and Emami. His 10 years of well-rounded marketing experience spans extensive work on four Heritage Brands; three successful New Brand Launches, stabilisation and growth in Organisation eco-systems; and NPDs: operating across blue-ocean, penetration categories to complex, competitive categories among both urban and rural consumer demographics. At Emami, he handles the Fair and Handsome Brand portfolio, a Category Creator, Leader equity, and the Pain Management Portfolio (Zandu Balm, Mentho Plus Balm, Fast Relief) for India.
Starting off his career at Marico, his systematic end-to-end experience on development of sound, long-term brand strategies in changing contexts has led to building effective, consistent, strong brands; and excellence in execution has led to sustainable, profitable growth of brands over the years.
He has led differentiated strategies, campaigns and innovations that have received prestigious international recognition across marketing facets consistently, including two Recommended Cases and two Editor’s Choice Best Practice papers at WARC, a WARC Asia Strategy Prize; effectiveness wins at the Festival of Media Global and Asia Pacific; six Effies, six Emvies and a Goa Fest Gold. One of his brands, Parachute Advanced Ayurvedic Hair Oil also has the distinction of winning the first ever hat-trick at the Appies Asia Pacific Marketing Congress, Singapore, between 2012 and 2014.
He did his Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur, and Mechanical Engineering from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore. A driving enthusiast and violinist, he was also the inaugural Editor-in-Charge of the magazine, “The Voice of Faith”.
